T-shirt Blog: Art meets T-shirts
In a move that demonstrates the Tate’s interest and commitment to breakthrough illustration, work by three Concrete Hermit artists (Anthony Burrill, Ian Stevenson and Andrew Rae) has been commissioned and will form part of the ‘Tate Modern Series’. Product launch and book signing is on Friday 31st July at the Tate Modern in London. To learn more about Concrethe Hermit you can read an interview we did with them a while ago here.
Nuuanu Gallery in Honolulu is hosting called Dirty Laundry: The Art of the Stain in Modern T-Shirt Design. The basic concept is that designers were asked to stain t-shirts with a medium of their choice (grass, wine, lipstick, etc.) and then design custom artwork that uses the stain as an integral design.
The show has gathered an amazing group of artists (Mike Perry, Damien Correll, Frank Chimero, Kris Chau, & Tim Gough to name a few… More info @ www.dirtydirtylaundry.com
The latest issue of The FADER Magazine (issue 46) is out and features Jerry Garcia on the cover. Specifically, it’s the annual Icons/Photography issue.
To commemorate the release, a limited edition FADER/Jerry Garcia t-shirt is being produced along with a limited edition poster which showcases a family tree of sorts; band’s that influenced the Grateful Dead and the bands that were influenced by the Dead.
